Reef Complete is a concentrated (160,000 mg/L) optimized blend of ionic calcium designed to restore and maintain calcium to levels found in natural seawater without affecting pH. Calcium and carbonates are essential to all coral growth. If either becomes deficient, coral growth will cease, followed by a rapid decline in coral health. To prevent this you must provide calcium (Reef complete) and carbonates (Reef Builder or Reef Carbonate) Reef Complete also includes magnesium and strontium in amounts proportionate to typical utilization ratios (100:5:0.1, Ca:Mg: Sr). This allows one to maintain these two important elements while maintaining calcium. Reef Complete is a blended product. It is not simply calcium chloride. Commercially available calcium chloride contains ammonia. Unlike other ionic calcium supplements, Reef Complete is blended to a higher pH to force the ammonia to gas off into the atmosphere. Also, Reef Complete is more concentrated than any other liquid product on the market. Reef Complete contains 160,000 ppm calcium.

INSTRUCTIONS: Beginner: Use 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 US gallons) twice a week. Check calcium every 2 weeks and adjust the amount or frequency accordingly

Advanced: Check calcium level (use Reef Status: Calcium to measure calcium), then follow the addition regimen above until calcium is adjusted to 380-420 mg/L. Each 5 mL/80 L (20 US gallons) will raise calcium by about 10 mg/L. Quantity or frequency can be adjusted, but do not exceed 12.5 mL/80 L (20 US gallons) per day. Thereafter, use as required to maintain calcium.

Expert: After determining the calcium consumption rate, set up a continuous drip system. Use the following formula (or skip the math and use our Dosage Calculator) to determine how much to add to your top off water: m=vc/160 (m=mL of product to add to top off water, v=volume of the tank in liters, c=amount to raise calcium in mg/L). If used with Reef Calcium, it is not necessary to exceed 380 mg/L total calcium. Use Reef Status: Calcium to measure calcium.

Reef Calcium is a concentrated (50,000 mg/L) bioavailable polygluconate complexed calcium intended to maintain calcium in the reef aquarium without altering pH. Additionally, polygluconate contains no nitrogen or phosphorous, thus it is biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system. Reef Calcium utilizes a chained organic calcium rather than an ionic calcium. When a coral absorbs a molecule into its tissue, it uses the same amount of energy regardless of molecular size. However, charged molecules require more energy. When an uncharged molecule of Reef Calcium is absorbed, the coral acquires multiple calcium atoms as well as an easily metabolized carbohydrate with less energy expended than it uses for ionic calcium uptake. Therefore, at lower calcium levels, corals can still take in as much calcium through our organic chains as they would at much higher levels of ionic calcium.

API Marine Magnesium Raises Magnesium Levels in Reef Aquariums raises and restores magnesium levels in your reef aquarium, and should be used whenever a magnesium deficiency is present in your water. The magnesium level of a reef aquarium should be between 1,250 to 1,450 ppm. Use API Marine Magnesium when water tests show a magnesium level below 1,250 ppm mg/L in your reef aquarium. Dose according to directions on the product label. Treats up to 948 US gallons of salt water.

Reef Strontium's addition to reef aquariums aids the growth of corals, coralline algae, and other organisms that lay down a calcareous skeleton or shell, including tridacnid clams. Reef Strontium is intended to restore and maintain strontium to levels found within natural seawater without affecting pH. Strontium is utilized in the same manner as calcium and holds a similar importance in maintaining a vigorous level of growth.

Reef Strontium contains 10,000 mg/L of available strontium as a gluconate complex. Gluconate complexation offers several benefits: it increases the bioavailability of the strontium, it provides a rich source of metabolic energy to help maintain peak coral growth, and it inhibits strontium precipitation/alkalinity depletion. Gluconate does not contain nitrogen or phosphorus, making it biologically impossible for it to lead to algae growth in a properly maintained reef system.

Equilibrium is specifically designed to establish the ideal mineral content for the planted aquarium. Equilibrium contains no sodium or chloride (which can be detrimental to a planted aquarium at elevated levels). Equilibrium is ideally suited for use with RO (reverse osmosis) or DI (deionized) water or any mineral deficient water. Equilibrium raises the essential mineral/electrolyte content (General Hardness) of the water to balance with and promote stability of the carbonate hardness. To maintain KH, we recommend Alkaline Buffer. Equilibrium contains NO SODIUM CHLORIDE. Both sodium and chloride are not rapidly depleted elements in a planted aquarium, and, in the case of chloride, can do more harm than good. Also, sodium is not a contributing cation to GH levels. INSTRUCTIONS: To raise mineral content/general hardness (GH) by 1 meq/L (3 dH), add 16 g (1 tablespoon) for every 80 L (20 US gallons) when setting up an aquarium or when making water changes (add to new water). For optimum solubility, we recommend mixing with 1 L (1 qt.) of water (the resulting mixture will have a white opaque appearance). When this mixture is added to the aquarium it will impart a slight haze that should clear within 15-30 minutes. HINTS: Do not use Equilibrium when replacing evaporated water. This dose is based on DI or RO water; for other water, measure hardness (GH) first, then add according to need. For precise dosing, use the Seachem Digital Spoon Scale.
